Run it back! 💪☄️

Four athletes from last year's women's shot put competition at the Nike Prefontaine Classic - Chase Jackson, Jessica Schilder, Yemisi Ogunleye and Maddison-Lee Wesche - are all back to compete in the 2026 edition.

🇺🇸 Jackson, two-time Pre Classic champion, is back to defend her title after throwing a meet and Hayward Field record 20.94m (68-8.5) at #Pre50. The American record holder is coming off an indoor season where she won her first world indoor title, bringing her global title count to three.

🇳🇱 Schilder is the reigning World Outdoor champion and enters 2026 coming off a career-year where she threw a Dutch record 20.69m (66-7). Schilder, making her third appearance at Pre, was fifth in last year's competition.

🇩🇪 The 2024 Olympic champion Ogunleye is making her second appearance at Pre, finishing ninth in last year's competition. Ogunleye threw a lifetime best 20.37m (66-10) during the indoor season, bettering her previous overall best by 10 centimeters.

🇳🇿 A two-time medalist the last two outdoor global championships, Wesche is returning for her second Pre Classic, debuting last season with a fourth-place finish. Wesche recently won her seventh New Zealand national title.

🗓️The Nike Prefontaine Classic is scheduled for July 3 & 4.
