From being older than sliced bread to shaping TV history, Sir David Attenborough’s life is as iconic as his documentaries. He was born in 1926, while sliced bread didn’t hit shelves until 1928, and despite becoming one of the most recognisable faces on television, he didn’t even own a TV when he first started out.⁠

He’s also had a major hand behind the scenes, having commissioned Monty Python’s Flying Circus during his time at the BBC, and has been honoured with two knighthoods across his career. ⁠
