For three years, the Women’s Jazz Ensemble has been a University of Missouri club where female musicians thrive. Most jazz performers are men, but Joanna Griffith wanted to create a space where women could celebrate their love of jazz music together. 

“I think it’s important to just come together as a group and we get to have this bond of being women playing jazz,” Griffith said.
