On May 5th, 2026, Thousand Oaks Patrol Deputies responded to the 1800 block of West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks reference a domestic disturbance. Once on scene, Thousand Oaks Patrol Deputies determined both occupants of the residence were involved in illegal narcotics activity. Shane Thaisamran and Brittney Sglav were arrested for HS 11550(a) – Under the Influence of a Controlled substance and HS 11377(a) – Possession of a Controlled Substance. Thousand Oaks Patrol Deputies notified the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit of the incident. Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit detectives coordinated with Thousand Oaks Patrol Deputies to conduct a follow-up investigation at the residence.
 
Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit responded back to the residence and contacted another female, Hue Lam, who was attempting to flee from the residence and a male subject, Brandon Thaisamran, inside the residence.  After a lengthy investigation, Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit established probable cause to arrest Thaisamran and Lam for PC 459 – Burglary and PC 182(a)(1) – Conspiracy to Commit the Burglary. Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit later located a vehicle associated with Thaisamran and Lam. During a search of the vehicle, the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit located a concealed firearm, narcotics, a large quantity of stolen mail, credit cards, and identification cards. Thaisamran and Lam were arrested for the additional violations of HS 11370.1(a) -Possession of a Controlled substance with a Firearm, HS 11377(a) – Possession of a Controlled Substance, PC 25400(a)(1) – Concealed Firearm within Vehicle, PC 27545 – Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm, PC 30305(a)(1) – Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm/ Ammunition, and PC 530.5(a) – Possession of Identifying Information of Numerous Others.
