Boundaries saved my life.

Not the polished kind. The kind built from having a business partner who relied on me having none.

I used to think giving everything was proof I cared.

It was not proof. It was a pattern.

The boundaries I have now were not built from wisdom. They were built from the wreckage.

And they are the most valuable thing I own.

Not because they keep people out.
