Bridget Kolls, a Cubs fan, threw out the first pitch at Wrigley Field on Wednesday night, reuniting with her kidney donor, Thomas Alessio — a die-hard White Sox fan.

Kolls, 23, was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2017. Two years later, she decided to broaden her search for a donor, bringing a homemade sign to a Cubs game in May 2019 that read, “This lil’ Cubbie needs a kidney.”

Her plea spread across social media and caught the attention of Alessio. The two later learned they were a match, and surgery was scheduled for March 2020, just before the baseball season.

Six years later, they reunited at Wrigley Field.
