Mikaela Way’s academic path was shaped by mentorship, research and unexpected discovery.

Through faculty guidance and conference presentations, she found a passion for research and women’s and gender studies that now defines her graduate plans.

She will pursue advanced study in women’s and gender studies and experimental psychology.

Her advice to incoming students: “Don’t be afraid to throw yourself into the deep end and try things outside your comfort zone.
