## Caption

In my own life, I have experienced the sorrow and grief that come when death parts us from those we love. At such times, the miracle of Easter and the hope made possible through Jesus Christ have lifted, steadied, and rescued me. I run to the scriptures to be filled with witnesses found in the New Testament and the Book of Mormon. In one, I hear the resurrected Savior say, “Peace be unto you” (John 20:19). In the other, I am encouraged to “have hope through the atonement of Christ” (Moroni 7:41).

Easter always brings me a renewed gratitude for Jesus Christ. Because of Him, sorrow, sin, and death do not have the final word. In Him, we can look forward with confidence that broken things can be made whole. Forgiveness becomes the balm that heals the wounds of our humanity and allows us to begin again. And in Him, the grave has been conquered by the promise of resurrection and reunion.  Because of Jesus Christ, we can find hope in every season. And because Jesus Christ lives, there is reason to keep going, to trust God, to rejoice.

I testify that Jesus Christ is our hope and our peace. He is the One to hold fast to. He is the One to follow when we find ourselves in need of lifting, steadying, and rescuing like I did. The Savior broke the bands of death and declared, "I am the resurrection, and the life" (John 11:25). I testify that Jesus Christ lives, and His Atonement changes everything. It is because of Him that loss is not final, hope and peace are possible, and joy can return and be eternal.
