OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS. 

With May as National Bike Month, we are all about spending time on the trails. On Sunday, we shared some shorter, leisurely routes. This round-up requires more endurance! 

🚴‍♂️Discovery Trail: The trail is a paved corridor spanning Abbotsford, connecting the east and west sides and winding through forest, ponds, and creeks. You’ll also see some amazing views of Mt. Baker. Coming from the west? Start at Gardner Park. From the east? Head to Hazelwood St. and Highway 11. For planning purposes, allow 3-5 hours to explore the trail. We highly recommend grabbing a bite at leppfarmmarket or treat at clayburnvillagestore as part of your day!

🚴‍♂️Teq’géyex (Sumas Mountain): The mountain is known for its dense network of forest trails and challenging singletrack with steep sections and roots and rock rolls. You can spend anywhere from 1 hour to the whole day up here! 

🚴‍♂️Semá:th (Sumas) Dyke Trail: Although this is an easier ride, it is a longer and scenic route taking riders through the Sumas flats with dairy farms and berry fields. The dykes surround what was once a large lake, but drained in the 1920s. Expect a few hours for this one.
