A series of rare wildlife attacks ended after a dog stepped in.

Officials say a bobcat believed to be behind multiple attacks on people and pets was taken down after a German Shepherd defended its owner during an encounter.

The incidents happened across the Prescott area, with at least three people injured in separate attacks over a short period of time.

Authorities say it’s extremely rare for something like this to happen, but are still urging the public to stay cautious.
The dog that intervened was injured and is currently receiving care.
