Gas prices are up again across Arizona — and for a lot of drivers, it’s starting to affect more than just the pump.

The increase is being driven in part by rising global oil prices tied to ongoing conflict in the Middle East. When oil prices move, gas prices follow — and Arizona drivers are seeing it in real time.

Prices are higher than they were a year ago. For drivers filling larger tanks, that can mean $15–$25 more every time you fill up.

But the bigger impact is what happens after.

That extra cost starts shifting how people spend — smaller grocery runs, fewer nights out, putting things off that used to feel normal.

Because in Arizona, driving isn’t something you can cut out. It’s how people get to work, school, and everything in between.

So instead of avoiding the cost, people are adjusting everything around it.

And over time, that pressure builds.
