Arizona skies are lining up for a rare show… and most people won’t even look up 🌠

The Lyrid meteor shower is peaking right now, one of the oldest recorded meteor showers in history (dating back over 2,000 years). Under the right conditions, you could see 15–20 meteors per hour streak across the sky.
But here’s the part people miss…

👉 Your best window is tonight into early tomorrow morning (midnight → sunrise)
👉 The darker it is, the more you’ll see — city lights will wash most of it out
👉 Look toward the eastern sky, but meteors can appear anywhere

If you’re willing to drive just a little outside Phoenix — or you’re already in places like Flagstaff, Sedona, or open desert areas — your chances go way up.

And this isn’t just about shooting stars…
A rare comet (C/2025 R3 PanSTARRS) may also be visible just before sunrise in the eastern horizon. It’s not guaranteed (it’s close to the sun and harder to spot), but if you catch it, that’s something most people will never see.

💡 Pro tip most people don’t know:
Give your eyes 20–30 minutes to adjust to the dark and avoid looking at your phone — that’s when the sky really starts to come alive.
