Lately, I’ve been thinking about what will truly shape the future.🤷🏼‍♀️ 

Not just AI. 
Not just technology. 
But whether we remember how to stay human while building it…

One sentence from my sister’s suicide note has stayed with me:

“Life is a constant fight against poverty.”

Growing up in informal communities, in mixed-race families, and in a home where foster children were part of my childhood, I learned that identity is not simple. It is shaped by pain, belonging, survival, love, and the quiet questions we carry into adulthood.

Many of us carry those same questions into corporate spaces too.

Behind every title, position, or social status is still a human being who does not always have the answers.

That is why I’m grateful to be surrounded by forward-thinking leaders who understand that people are not resources. They are stories, wounds, dreams, courage, and worth.

Leadership starts with us.

To heal. 
To grow. 
To care better. 
To remember that it is okay not to always be okay.

As we build in an AI-first world, may we never become so advanced that we forget the humanity we are here to protect.

What kind of future are we building, and who are we becoming while we build it? 🫶🏼
