🇨🇮 🌊 𝐋𝐀 𝐏Ê𝐂𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐄𝐔𝐒𝐄

Il y eut deux pêches miraculeuses dans les Évangiles.

🎣 La première, c’est l’appel.
✝️ La seconde, après la résurrection, c’est le retour de l’espérance.

Des pêcheurs déçus avaient repris leurs filets…
Puis le Christ est revenu. 🙏🏿

En créant cette œuvre, je pensais représenter la première pêche miraculeuse.
Mais plus l’image prenait vie, plus elle ressemblait à la seconde.

🛶 Avec nos pirogues.
🌍 Nos pêcheurs.
✨ Nos eaux africaines.

Afro Nativity est une réinterprétation des récits bibliques à travers l’Afrique et sa beauté héroïque.

There were two miraculous catches in the Gospels.

🎣 The first was the calling.
✝️ The second, after the resurrection, was the return of hope.

Disappointed fishermen had returned to their nets…
Then Christ came back. 🙏🏿

While creating this artwork, I thought we were depicting the first miraculous catch.
But as the image came to life, it slowly became the second.

🛶 With our pirogues.
🌍 Our fishermen.
✨ Our African waters.
