As our country’s education system continues to face ongoing onslaughts – book bans that censor the education our children receive, politics that weaponize school boards, curricula that eliminate accurate history lessons –teachers continue to show up to fight for a brighter future, all while being severely overworked and underpaid. 

This #TeacherAppreciationWeek, teachers across the country deserve more than recognition. As our friend theconsciouslee says, “education is elevation.” Teachers aren’t just educating our children. Teachers are empowering our future leaders. All advocacy movements start in the classroom, so teachers deserve more than their well-earned flowers. 

Teachers deserve pay raises. They deserve supportive resources. 
They deserve protections – including against vouchers. 

Vouchers divert millions from public education and fund the private sector. This directly puts countless teaching positions in jeopardy. Our colleagues at the neatoday are fighting back against these vouchers. Learn more about their work in the comment section!
