A second chance changed the direction of my life. 💜🎓

In 2019, I started my college journey as a nursing major with a plan I thought I had completely figured out. But life has a way of humbling you, redirecting you, and forcing you to find strength you didn’t even know you had. Somewhere between uncertainty, setbacks, fear, and rebuilding, I learned that purpose doesn’t always arrive the way you expect it to. 

When I arrived at Prairie View A&M University in 2022, I wasn’t just transferring schools — I was starting over mentally, emotionally, and academically. I came searching for clarity, and somewhere on The Hill, I found it. 

I changed my major to Human Nutrition & Food with a concentration in Dietetics, and for the first time in a long time, I felt aligned with my purpose again. What once felt like failure became redirection. What once felt like losing my way became the beginning of me walking fully into it. 
Now, I leave this chapter as:
-President of the Student Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics 
-Miss College of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources 
-A student researcher in the College of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources 
-A future Registered Dietitian with a mission bigger than myself 

“One meal, one mind, changing the future one plate at a time.” 

That motto became bigger than words for me. It became the reason I kept going. Through every late night, every obstacle, every leadership role, every sacrifice, and every moment I questioned myself, I kept believing there was purpose attached to my journey. 

Prairie View didn’t just give me another opportunity to continue my education — it gave me room to grow into the woman I was becoming. A leader. A researcher. A servant. A voice. A testimony of resilience walking in grace. 

This is more than a degree. 
This is faith in motion. 
This is purpose fulfilled. 
This is what it looks like when you refuse to give up on yourself. 

And somehow, through every lesson life tried to teach me… I became stronger, softer, wiser, and more certain of the calling over my life. 💫🐾 

Class of 2026. Forever grateful for The Hill. 💜💛
