Meet C1C Kahleia "Leia" Salcedo from La Habra, California.
 
A former Preppie, Leia chose #USAFA to challenge herself, grow alongside others committed to service and make a lasting impact.
 
After graduation, this Civil Engineering major will commission into the usairforce as a Civil Engineer, supporting infrastructure and operations at home station and in deployed environments.
 
Key experiences that shaped her journey:
🛠️ 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 (𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗟) Gained hands-on experience alongside enlisted members and built trust, communication and teamwork.
👥 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿. Led and supported cadets across the Wing while strengthening accountability and leadership at multiple levels.
🏕️ 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 (𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗘) 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽. Served as Cadet in Charge for two summers, mentoring high school students and seeing the impact of service firsthand.
 
The Academy prepared her to lead with trust, adapt to challenges and take care of her team.
