In April, we celebrated Arbor Day with Gaithersburg Elementary School’s kindergarten students! 🌳🏫

In partnership with GburgMD, the students planted three trees on their school grounds that were donated to the school by the City. This will be a wonderful legacy for the students, contributing to their school community as the trees grow to provide much-needed shade on the playground. Students helped plant the trees and recited an original poem about the importance of trees to a healthy environment.

City of Gaithersburg officials, including Mayor Jud Ashman, attended the event to congratulate the students on a job well done for making a positive contribution to their school community. The event also included a visit from Buddy Bison! The Park Trust also donated watering cans and a hose so students can continue to care for the trees as they grow.

We are so thrilled to play a part in fostering the next generation of park and environmental stewards!
