As of May 2026, Rutgers football has indeed recorded zero wins against ranked opponents while being a member of the Big Ten conference, spanning their tenure since 2014. This 0-37 record against top-25 teams is the worst among all Power 4 schools in the CFP era, highlighting a difficult adjustment to the conference.

Since joining the Big Ten in 2014, the team has never finished with a winning record in conference play, with a 4-5 record in 2024 (44.4%) marking their best mark. Rutgers has not beaten a ranked team in roughly 16 years, with their last ranked win coming in 2009 against number 24 ranked USF while in the Big East.
