Imagine looking up at the sky and watching two worlds slowly drift toward each other… no Hollywood explosion, just raw physics unfolding in silence.

At first, gravity takes over. The planets begin to distort slightly, their shapes stretching as tidal forces pull at their surfaces. Oceans would surge violently, atmospheres would ripple, and entire continents could start cracking before impact even happens.

As they finally meet, it wouldn’t be a quick smash. One planet might start to tear into the other, layers peeling back like molten rock being folded and stretched. Vast plumes of debris would be thrown into space, forming glowing arcs that could eventually become rings or even new moons.

Depending on the angle and speed, one planet might partially absorb the other, creating a larger, unstable world with a superheated surface. Or they could shatter into countless fragments, leaving behind a chaotic field of rock and fire orbiting what remains.

Over time, gravity would pull the debris back together. From destruction… something new could form. A completely different planet, with a new structure, new surface, and no trace of what existed before.

These kinds of events actually shaped our solar system in its early days — violent, slow-motion collisions building the planets we see today.
