Day 1 in Visit York County, SC blew us away! They truly have something for everyone.

Get your history fix from Kings Mountain National Military Park (it marks a significant victory for the Patriots in 1870 with a stunning monument) We got our adrenaline rush Canaan Zipline Canopy Tour where we started on a zipline from a 70 foot tower. It was so cool seeing the Catawba River from the air.

We had a delicious lunch on the patio at Papa Doc’s Shore Club the only restaurant on the SC side of Lake Wylie. Take a look at that fish sandwich and lucky charms milkshake! Don’t be surprised if you see a boat rolling up for a dockside order. Knowledge Perk gave us a much needed caffeine boost with their locally roasted beans. Coffee in hand..we explored the colorful murals around town (if you download the Visit York County app, they have a mural/brewery/taste trail listings)

We also checked out Freedom Walkway which celebrates the efforts of The Friendship 9 and other black residents ...moving the community towards equality and justice. The colorful alleyway is just steps away from where the Friendship 9 staged a sit in demanding justice. There are plenty of shops to browse in downtown Rock Hill...but no one mixes indie vibes and community outreach like The Mercantile Rock Hill. Supporting independent artists by selling their unique wares is their mission and you will definitely find something that fits your style. Try their flower bar where you can build your own bouquet. The Mercantile has also started a food fridge to help the community during covid...anyone can donate and anyone can grab food...no questions asked.

We finished up the day with the neighborhood brewery Slow Play Brewing and the legendary food truck Cibi Cibi The pictures show you what was up! This is just barely scratching the surface and we can’t wait to tell you more about YOCO and why you should plan a trip to experience it for yourself.
 Ready for Day 2! #visityorkcountysc
