Last summer in Los Angeles, our JoffreyRED Contemporary Ballet Summer Intensive brought dancers into a training environment where classical foundation met contemporary exploration. Presented in partnership with BalletRED Contemporary Ballet under the direction of Artistic Director Josie Walsh ballet_red, the intensive challenges dancers to expand both technique and artistry through a rigorous contemporary ballet process.⁠

Each day begins with Ballet Technique and Pointe before extending into Contemporary Ballet, Modern, Contemporary Dance, Improvisation, Partnering, Composition, and Ballroom, building the versatility required within today’s concert dance landscape.⁠ For dancers attending both weeks, the performance track culminates in a fully produced concert dance performance, carrying the work from studio to stage.⁠
