Tiny yet tenacious, disease-carrying ticks pose a health risk nationwide 🕷️

Now, UMD researchers are aiming to combat the transmission of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. By studying the evolutionary history of ticks as well as their modern lifecycles, the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources’ Utpal Pal and his team of scientists hope to create techniques that can limit the spread of dangerous pathogens.
