After visiting Madeira 4 times, this is still one of our favourite day trips on the island 🫶🏼

Here’s how we suggest spending Day 4:

🌅 Sunrise at Pico Ruivo

Skip the crowds at Pico do Arieiro and go to the highest peak on the island for sunrise instead! Sunrise is usually around 7 am, and if you’re lucky, you might even experience a cloud inversion 🤯

🥞 Breakfast at Quinta do Furão

Head to quintadofurao in Santana for breakfast with a view 😍

This hotel has amazing food and even better views (and this is actually where we got married) 🥹💍

🌺 Walk around Santana

Check out the traditional Santana houses, have a cup of coffee, and enjoy the slower pace of this little mountain town on the north side of the island ⛰️

💧 Stop at Cascata de Aguage

Just down the road from the centre of Santana, you’ll find this beautiful waterfall. It’s a 10-minute walk from the car, and it’s perfect for a few photos and maybe a snack break 📸

🏖️ Relax at Seixal Beach & natural swimming pools

Spend the afternoon swimming and relaxing at the iconic black sand beach and over by the natural rock pools, Poças das Lesmas (but be careful with the tide) 🌊

🚗 Then head back to your hotel to chill – you’ve earned it 🥰
