Not a day goes by that I am not thankful for pageants and the friendships, opportunities, and memories it has given me. On this #internationalpageantday I am overwhelmed with joy towards what the @misstnvolpageant and @missvolunteeramericapag has given me.

My journey with pageants does not start as tiny Kara, but as college student Kara. My friend @j_moneylewis encouraged me to compete in Miss Austin Peay way back in September of 2021. Not a day goes by that I am not grateful for Jacob and his push to do this because, well, look at me now.
My first year at the state pageant, I was Miss Murfreesboro Volunteer. I won that title four months after Miss Austin Peay, which was my first pageant ever. After that very long week, I went home with a non-finalist award, but was determined to do better the following year.
Right after state that June, I strapped back on my heels again and at the end of that August I won Miss Mid South Volunteer. That year was amazing, and it was the title that got me to first runner up at the state pageant this past July. That is a week that will forever be etched in my heart and mind.
Now, I am headed back to the state pageant for the third time as Miss Austin Peay Volunteer. I hold the crown of all of the women before me who represented Austin Peay with beauty, grace, poise, and dignity. I can only hope to make them, and the university, proud by bringing home the title of Miss Tennessee Volunteer 2025 this upcoming July.

I am extremely grateful for the people who have been instrumental in this chapter of my life. I wish I could tag all of you, but there is too many. Just know, I am so grateful for you and all that you have done for me.
