Hayden Panettiere is opening up about growing up in the spotlight and a traumatic experience she says happened when she was just 18. 🥲

During a recent appearance on the Jay Shetty podcast, Hayden recalled attending a boat party when at one point, a “very good friend” left her alone in a bed with a naked “very famous” man while she was stuck onboard.

“She physically put me in the bed next to this undressed man who was very famous… and I bolted. I hid wherever I could think of to hide,” Hayden shared.

The actress explained that, at 18, she believed she was mature enough to handle anything, but the situation became a turning point for her.

“I realized that there was nobody who was going to be empathetic to my situation. It took me by surprise… this was nothing new to them.”

Hayden opens up further about her rise to fame in her new memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, out May 19.
