Bye sister...👀

James Charles is speaking out after receiving backlash for calling a woman who allegedly lost her job at Spirit Airlines “lazy” for sending him a GoFundMe link.

In his first, now deleted video, James states, “nobody owes anybody anything” and says the woman should be spending her time applying for jobs rather than reaching out “to influencers and celebrities.” He claimed the woman was not following him, adding to his offence at the interaction.

His rant received intense backlash, with many commenters saying James wouldn’t be where he is now if it weren’t for his fans supporting his lifestyle. The immense reaction called for him to recant his statement and issue an apology.

In his apology, he states his rant was a result of being “super upset and frustrated because this person has never followed me, [or] never supported me before.” He says that his comments were “privileged” and “unnecessary” and that it wasn’t his intention to hurt anyone.

“I know that it’s really f–king hard out there and that most people are just doing their best and trying their best to figure it out and to make it by. And if this person happened to choose sending out GoFundMe links as their method of trying to make it by, who am I to judge?”

While fans are sceptical to accept James’ apology, he does state that he wants to reach out to the original messager and provide her with support should she still want it.
