Authorities have arrested a man in connection with two murders in two separate Central Texas counties six years apart.

26-year-old Luis Benitez-Gonzalez has been charged with first-degree murder in the 2024 death of Alyssa Ann Rivera.

He also faces two aggravated assault charges in shootings along Burton Drive in late 2025.

Police say they have reason to believe he may have had other violent or threatening encounters with women in the Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and Hidalgo areas.

Anyone with information is urged to contact law enforcement.
