I took this photo about a month ago after sleeping on my brand new couch for three nights in a row because it is simply THAT comfy and I spent this particular weekend resting and watching Normal People in its entirety(which BTW if you haven’t seen, add it to the list). 

I share this not to tell you about the couch and more to tell you that I truly believe that there are so many different facets of life and the rest we receive. 

I used to believe that rest really meant a planned day where I do specific things to enable rest within me or a day to get all the extras done, but as the years have gone by I’m learning more and more that rest for me means to take a deep breath, reflect on what’s passed, and prepare another breath for what I’ll step into next. 

Sometimes it does look like nature walks, watching the sunset, and journaling your heart out and other times it can totally be a three day tv show binge where you give your brain a break, you order some delicious food and you give yourself some time back to YOU. 

And yes, I do believe that sometimes your body craves sunshine and longs to be outside in nature. And yes, I believe there is space for both. 

I hope this serves as a sweet reminder to take a deep breath, listen to your body, and love yourself where you’re at and not just where you think you should be. 🤎
