Hi Friends,

This Mother’s Day, I am asking for something more meaningful than flowers or gifts. I am asking for hope. 🤍

This is honestly one of the hardest things for me to post. While I’ve always been open about my own life and personal struggles online, I have kept my mom’s health journey pretty private for a long time. But at this point, we know the only way to find hope is to share her story.

My mom came to this country from Ukraine to build a better life from nothing. She worked tirelessly to create a future for our family, pouring her heart into her career as a Master Barber and into every person lucky enough to sit in her chair. She has spent her life taking care of others, making people feel confident, seen, and loved.

A few years ago, she was diagnosed with kidney disease, and has been is in kidney failure since Christmas Day of 2023. Watching someone so strong go through this has been heartbreaking for our entire family. The dialysis treatments three times a week, the exhaustion, the uncertainty, it has changed so much, but through it all, she continues to fight with strength and grace every single day.

Now, she needs someone to help take care of her.

As a family, we are searching for a living kidney donor. A miracle that could give her more time, more memories, and more life with the people who love her deeply. We are holding onto faith and hope that the right person will see this.

If you have ever considered becoming a donor, or even simply could help us by sharing this post, it could truly change her life. The greatest gift this Mother’s Day would be the chance for my mom to keep living the life she fought so hard to build.
