#TSRUpdatez: Last week, a person trespassed at Denver International Airport by jumping a perimeter fence and was fatally struck by a #FrontierAirlines flight preparing to take off. Now, officials have identified the deceased and ruled on the manner of the death.

According to nbcnews, the person struck by the aircraft has been identified as Michael Mott, 41. The Medical Examiner for the City and County of Denver has ruled his death a suicide. Chief Medical Examiner Sterling McLaren said the cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt and sharp force injuries.

Denver International Airport CEO Phil Washington shared that while the incident has been determined to be a suicide, there was no note found at the scene. It was also noted that law enforcement officials have not located any of Mott’s belongings, including a vehicle. According to Washington Mott, “has had some law enforcement contact” in the Denver metropolitan area.

As previously reported, the incident occurred last Friday at 11:19 pm, as the Frontier flight was accelerating for takeoff to Los Angeles. The airport later released security video showing a figure walking across the runway as the aircraft swept in, and one of the plane’s engines caught fire.

Washington explained that an alarm went off at around 11:10 p.m, and an operator on duty “reviewed the alarm and identified a herd of deer just outside of the perimeter fence.”

“They did not initially see the trespasser. The camera view was alternating between the wildlife and the individual. There are some ditches in the area, so the person was out of view for a bit as well,” said Washington.

“It took approximately 15 seconds for this person to jump over the 8-foot fence topped with barbed wire. The time between climbing over the fence and being struck by the plane, again, was approximately two minutes.” (📸: gettyimages) ✍🏾: #TSRStaffJW
