Lobbing Scorchers hosts Ari Liljenwall and Noah Riffe take stock of MLS' latest Concacaf Champions Cup flameout and debate why the 2022 Seattle Sounders remain the only MLS club to have ever lifted the modern version of the trophy. What did that Sounders side have that the rest of Major League Soccer still can't replicate? Ari and Noah dig into the roster construction, mentality, depth, experience and timing that allowed Seattle to win Concacaf Champions Cup where every other club has come up short. Lobbing Scorchers then turns to the ongoing Seattle Sounders striker debate surrounding the club's attack, examining the current number 9 platoon of Jordan Morris, Osaze De Rosario and Danny Musovski. Is there a real answer hiding on this roster, or does the problem run deeper? Ari and Noah close out the show by cracking open the MLS salary guide to identify the biggest bargains, best values and most notable over- and under-performers on the Sounders roster relative to their contracts.
