A grad student in my department never got his masters because his computer crashed and he lost all his data and didn't back up. '

The easiest way is having a system that synchs to a server or cloud.

If you are handwriting data, take a picture with your phone and save the image!!

FYI #professors out there, many students have told me that they only back up their work once a semester!
