In northern France, Gabin – the youngest son of the Jourdel family – is expected to take over his father’s butcher shop. Torn between family loyalty and the desire to escape, he dreams of training a competition cow, breeding dogs and saving his mother’s farm from bankruptcy. 🐄

Following Gabin from the age of 8 to 18, the film offers an intimate portrait of youth, family expectations and rural life. 🌾
