I’ve been taking a break from posting, not because I haven’t wanted to, but because I fear I have fallen into the trap of a formula. I see what works, what doesn’t, and what actually inspires me as three different things. And though I would like for all of them to ricochet as one, that ultimately cannot happen all the time. What makes one thing “successful” over another? Not sure. What makes me want to continue to create? Typically intrinsic. This is one of those ideas.

My exhibit here is an interplay between memory and the recurring dilemma of how images seem to outlive all other media to me. We remember things in images, in pictures. I am bringing and circumnavigating this idea as I enter thesis. Why is it always the image? More to come.
