As coaches and trainers, we often look at missed passes or turnovers and blame decision-making. But the reality? Stuck feet lead to stuck decisions.

In this week’s Think the Game Thursday Blog, PGC Basketball hits the nail on the head regarding The Lost Art of the Footwork. Here are my biggest takeaways:

1️⃣ Your feet are the foundation: When your feet are organized, your mind can stay calm.
2️⃣ The pivot is a weapon: Stop viewing the pivot foot as a rule to avoid a travel. Use it to step through pressure, create new passing angles, and solve the defense.
3️⃣ It’s not an add-on: Footwork can’t just be a warmup drill. Every shooting, passing, and finishing drill needs to emphasize arriving on balance and loading properly.
