I saw these on thekitchn and knew they’d go over HUGE in my house. I was sooo right.
But I mean, Cmon… pastry, bananas, chocolate bar, chocolate drizzle… How could they not?!!

Also, I never purchased a Kinder bar before… never really even knew they existed, but it’s what was used in thekitchn video, so I used them. I’d imagine any type of chocolate wedged into the banana would work just fine.

Chocolate Banana Boats Wrapped in Puff Pastry
.
.
1 sheet of Puff pastry
3 bananas
Chocolate… I used Kinder Chocolate
Egg wash (1 egg mixed together with 1 tbls of water)
Chocolate drizzle (I melted 1/2 cup of chocolate chips together with 1 tsp of vegetable oil in a double boiler until melted)

Preheat oven to 400F.

Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into long strips, about 1/2 inch wide.

Peel the bananas.
Cut out a small trough in the center of each banana using a spoon, being careful not to dig to deep and break the banana. I found keeping the bananas as cold as I could before cutting the trough helped.

Place pieces of chocolate in the trough of each banana half.
Wrap the pastry strips around each banana, overlapping slightly as you go. Continue wrapping until the entire banana is covered.
Place the wrapped bananas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush with egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Drizzle melted chocolate over and sprinkle with flaky salt (I used Maldon salt)
