Marcello Hernández has always been a girl's guy. “I lived in a house with all women,” says Hernández. “I have a lot of girlfriends too, like close friends, that are women that I love."

Hernández's appreciation for women is also a recurring theme of his netflix comedy special from the end of 2025 'American Boy,' in which he stresses the importance of active listening when it comes to female relationships: “That guy has follow-up questions," he jokes about the well-worn trope of seeing an objectively unattractive man in a relationship with a drop-dead gorgeous babe.

What are some follow-up questions Hernández keeps in his back pocket? We had to ask. “‘Does that always happen?" He offers. "Is this a pattern? Or is this new?’ ‘Did you see it coming?’ And, always: ‘What did you do?’"
