This week, we would like to introduce you to Jerry!👋 

Jerry is a Local Representative for a wind farm in Minnesota. Hear from him below about his perspective as a local representative:

"I believe having a local representative for the project matters. I’ve lived in this area my entire life-over 70 years and have a long-standing relationship with many of the landowners involved. Because of that, I understand the land, the community, and the importance of treating people with respect. My goal is to make sure landowners have someone they know and trust to help them understand the direction of the project and represent their interests along the way.

What I enjoy most about being the local representative for [the project] is simply working with people. It’s great to hear how excited folks are about the project. Whether it’s at a friends meeting or a landowner update meeting, those conversations were what I look forward to most.

Over the past few years working on this project, I’ve learned a great deal-both about myself working with people and about the renewable energy industry. I’ve gained a better understanding of where our electricity goes, how much energy is being produced by sources like wind and solar, and how growing demand is shaping our energy future. One thing that’s become clear to me is that renewable energy isn’t a cure-all but is an important piece of the puzzle. If we want to meet future energy needs in a responsible way, it has to be part of the mix. I’ve truly enjoyed learning and staying informed through our local representative updates, and being part of these ongoing conversations."
