Drivers make their way through the I-5 Freeway in snowy conditions at the Tejon Pass in Gorman, Calif., on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning Wednesday that will last through the weekend, which is expected to bring 4 to 6 inches of rain and up to 7 feet of snow in the mountains. 

While snow may be at the front of many residents’ minds, the NWS is more concerned about the coming rain and wind. Approximately four to six inches of rain is expected to fall on the valley starting Thursday night, accompanied by wind that could reach up to 50 miles per hour.
