The texture and strength of the umbilical cord always catches people off guard! 

✅ PRO TIP : 

I used to tell families that cutting the cord was like sawing through a calamari...but the comparison to food in that moment left more than one dad feeling squeamish. 🤢 Now, I describe it as cutting through an extension cord and that seems to be less traumatic. 😂
