I walked a client through a 5,200 sq ft townhouse. Five floors. Beautiful finish. The obvious choice.
Then we viewed a 4,000 sq ft lateral apartment. She turned to me and said, “This feels bigger.”
She was right.
In a house up to 30% of your square footage is stairs, hallways, and landings. Space you walk through, not space you live in.
A lateral apartment? Almost every square foot is doing a job. One floor. One flow. No interruptions.
