Having the biggest trophy on Grandma Starks’ mantle was always John Starks’ goal. In the 6th grade it was his time. John was all set to be the MVP, but his name was never called. He walked back in broken hearted as a kid who “averaged 3 points” held the trophy. His Grandmother was still proud, but he learned a lesson that night… “You play to win the game”.
