Most parents don’t realise this until they’re already exhausted.

School refusal isn’t caused by a lack of motivation, a bad attitude, or weak parenting.

It’s a nervous system that has learned that school isn’t safe.

And every strategy that treats it like a behaviour problem makes the alarm louder.

The year my daughter missed 100+ days of school was the year I finally stopped doing what I was told - and started doing what actually worked.

She got into her first choice university.
