Story Book 535 🚀 | CAPM Day 25
Today’s learning was not only about SAP CAP APIs.
It was also about understanding why frontend platform services matter in enterprise architecture.
After successfully building custom SAP CAP APIs for:
✔ Products
✔ Suppliers
✔ PurchaseOrders
✔ OData V4 $expand queries
✔ Business logic functions
I moved to the next layer:
SAP Build Apps integration.
Goal:
Use SAP Build Apps as the frontend/UI layer to consume CAP APIs and create business dashboards visually.
Target architecture:
SAP Build Apps
→ frontend / low-code UI
SAP CAP
→ backend business APIs
OData V4
→ integration contract
While setting up SAP Build Apps in SAP BTP Trial, the subscription repeatedly failed even after:
✔ Healthy Trust Configuration
✔ sap.default active
✔ OpenID Connect enabled
✔ Re-subscription attempts
This helped me understand another important enterprise lesson:
Modern cloud platforms are deeply dependent on:
Identity services
Trust configuration
Subscription provisioning
Platform dependencies
Sometimes engineering is not only:
“writing code”
It is also:
understanding platform architecture and service dependencies.
Even though the Build Apps subscription is still under investigation, today’s learning was valuable because it connected:
Backend APIs
→ Frontend platforms
→ Identity architecture
→ Subscription lifecycle
Learning continues:
SAP BTP | SAP CAP | SAP Build Apps | OData V4 | Enterprise Architecture
