## Caption

Uncharted 2 private commission. 16x20" acrylic gouache on panel. The last private commission for a while. I want to move away from these and back into commercial work, so if you have something you think my work would be a good fit for I would love to talk! On this piece, I subconsciously leaned into old influences of rickberrystudio, philhalestudio and jonfosterstudios on this one. I think it's mainly in the cloud shapes, but I can see their influence of dynamic posing in the figure as well. I'm so lucky to have had learned from Jon and Rick in particular when I was younger. There were so many good nights painting in oils on giant boards in Rick's and later our shared studio that I will always hold dear. There is a lineage in art, and it's something I've always been interested in. Where do the influences lead and how far back can you go. Through them I found Schmid, Sargent, Zorn and then Duran to Velazquez and Hals to Titian. That is where my oil painting research stopped (in that line, specifically). Learning about art in my 20's was nearly an addiction. I couldn't wait to go to the library or take out more books (some of which I still have and also paid all late fees associated with) :) Anyway, just some insights into my early journeys into painting and picture making.
