Here’s a hard one to hear: if you rely on tracing and can’t draw, well, what are you going to do if you lose your drawing once you start painting? Cry? Probably. I nearly did on this Remarque. I often paint over my drawings in order to rediscover the drawing through the paint, which for me gives my paintings “life”. Plus, I find it fun to explore with brush strokes, color, texture and shapes. What do you enjoy with your work? I like a little struggle. With the more difficult ones, I can remember how I got through it and go right back to that place when I painted it. Weird? I like that. So how about y’all?
