World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus says he is “deeply concerned about the scale and speed” of the Ebola outbreak after the WHO declared it a public health emergency of international concern.⁣

Tedros said there are 30 confirmed cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, alongside more than 500 suspected cases and 130 suspected deaths as health teams ramp up surveillance and testing efforts.⁣
