🔬 "Oh yeah, that worked. You see that? It tugged it together."

That's the moment every surgeon lives for in the OR — when the tissue responds exactly the way you need it to, and you know the repair is going to hold. 💪

Here's what happened in this case: we had a challenging meniscus repair at the capsular junction. The first anchor helped, but the outer edge of the tear wasn't fully compressed — the fixation wasn't as solid as I needed it to be. Rather than close and hope for the best, we made a decision in real time: reposition, adjust the angle to 24 degrees, and place a second anchor from underneath.

That bottom anchor changed everything. It pulled the periphery of the tear firmly together, restored the natural anatomy, and gave us the stability the repair needed to last.

We then used a meniscal rasp to abrade the bone surface — creating small bleeding points that trigger the body's own healing cascade — before smoothing the capsule for a clean finish. Every step has a purpose. Every decision has a reason.

This is what 26+ years in the OR looks like. Not just performing surgery — but making the right call in the right moment, every single time. 🩺
