Meet Danae Hicks, a Family & Community Health County Extension Agent at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service - Ellis County office (ellis_county_fch_extension)!

Danae is making a big impact across Ellis County through her work promoting wellness, safety and informed living for Texans of all ages. From chronic disease prevention to emergency preparedness, her programs meet families where they are, helping them live healthier, safer lives every day.

She leads several innovative efforts, including the Heart Smart Conference, a community-wide event focused on cardiovascular health, and Car Seat Inspection Events that ensure young passengers are protected on the road. These events are made possible through collaboration with police departments, fire departments, pregnancy centers and other local partners.

Danae is also a creative force behind AgriLife Extension’s public outreach, designing infographics, newsletters and digital content that keep families informed and engaged. Her collaborations with senior centers, health professionals and community coalitions help ensure that her programs reflect the needs and priorities of the people she serves.

Whether she’s helping older adults stay active, supporting parents with lifesaving safety tips or teaming up with fellow AgriLife Extension agents to strengthen statewide outreach, Danae brings passion and purpose to every effort.
